Happy Easter, everyone!
Free event. All ages.
Easter is one of the biggest holidays in the world. Everyone is invited to join Preston and Kumiko in their home to watch a 27-minute movie depicting the original Easter story that the holiday is dedicated to.
The film "To This End Was I Born" is a straightforward but dramatic depiction of the events as described in the New Testament. The film is adapted from Matthew 4:18–20, Matthew 10:7, John 10:16, Matthew 16:13–16, John 6:51–56.
Food: We will provide pizza from Barro's Pizza, along with drinks and refreshments. Guests do not need to bring anything. But anybody who wants to bring a snack or food item to share is welcome to do so.
Discussion? The only plans are to watch the film and eats some pizza. Nothing is planned. But if you want to stay after the film and discuss it, you are welcome to do so. Or talk about dogs or cars or anything at all.
Can I Watch the Film Online? Yes. Anybody can find this film and watch it for free on YouTube. If you want to check it out first, feel free to do so. The point of the watch party is to get together as friends and neighbors for a social activity.
Is this a proselytizing activity? No. The neighborhood potluck group is proud to have organized events representing MANY demographics: Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, atheist, Buddhist, Christian, Democrat, Republican, Toastmasters, Forward Party, etc. Neighborhood events are opportunities for people of all backgrounds to get to know each other. This event is meant for everyone, regardless of their own personal take on Easter.
